Dr. Dre，西海岸痞子说唱的创始人和领军者，也是一手提携了当年还是新人的阿姆。这次阿姆和恩师的合作单曲备受期待。歌词中有一段f**k all you fair-weather friends，all I need is him，这一小段歌词足见师徒俩的感情。此外，这首歌是Dr.Dre十几年磨一剑的专辑Detox中的歌曲。
　　这里是Dr. Dre与Eminem & Skylar Grey的合作歌曲I Need a Doctor单曲封面。它是Dre的新专辑Detox的主打单曲。由Alex Da Kid制作。Amazon网站上给出的官方发行日期是

　　这首歌的歌名是一语双关，而且歌词里面也充满了双关的词，Dr为doctor的缩写，有医生和博士的意思，I need a doctor既指Em需要一位医生来拯救Dr. Dre的生命，Emimen的生命中需要这位亦师亦友的Dr Dre，也指他包括歌迷需要Dr.Dre（中文有翻译为得瑞博士的）回归，他们想念他的音乐回归。
　　Dr. Dre原名b. Andre Young， 被公认为西海岸痞子说唱的创始人和领军者， 滚石杂志尤其推崇他。 Dr火的时候EM才刚刚出道没多久， 作为一名白人，EM可以说受尽同行的羞辱， 没有任何人看上他， 给予他帮助， 这段时间可以说是EM最为低落的时期。 就在这时Dr给了他很大的帮助， 并且帮他制作了那张极具冲击力和争议的LP专辑The Slim Shady(歌词中Dr Dre称EM为Slim）。 凭借此张专辑， EM可以说在说唱界站稳了脚跟 ，无人敢在轻视他、 羞辱他、 欺负他。 如果当初没有Dr， 可能就不会有今日被称为神的EM。
　　I Need A Doctor整首歌可以说是在围绕的Dr来写的—— Dr曾经7年时间里没有出过唱片， 并且经历过失去儿子Andre Young.Jr的痛苦（他儿子因为吸毒致死） 和公司的不和等等 。经历了一系列的挫折， Detox这张唱片也是迟迟未能与歌迷见面， 并且宣称此张唱片为最后一张。 可以说现在是Dr的人生低谷 ，同时 Dr Dre身边的曾经的朋友也弃他而去， 不再真正关心他 。而此时EM站了出来—— “I Need A Doctor”，从歌名里就能看出EM是想让Dr能够振作， 走出困境。 此歌可以说是报答Dr作为他的恩师、朋友还有亲人的一首歌。“ I Need A Doctor”的TV SHOW也是10年来Dr的首次登台， 也是为了Detox这张唱片的宣传。
